This would work well for kids over the age of 6 or 7. My 4 year old is unable to open this without help as the clasp is too tight and on top of that, opening the cover itself requires more strength.It comes with a spoon and fork but it would be even better if there was a place on the box to attach them onto.
I bought it for my 2 year old in preparation of getting her ready for preschool next Fall. My goal is to help my kiddo to get used to eating lunch out of a lunch box and to practice opening it with & without assistance. For this purpose, I wanted a lunch box made with stainless steel & leak proof as I plan on incorporating warm food and I remember growing up with stainless steel lunch boxes in elementary and enjoyed having warm/hot food. I've never heard of this company before, and I bought 3 lunch boxes from them during the Black Friday sale event. 2 bigger ones for my partner and myself and the smaller one is for my 2 year old. All 3 have been washed, used, and so far we have no complaints. Keeps food warm and easy to clean. The real test will be after kiddo starts preschool. I guess I'll come back and update my review in about 11 months (since we're 10 months away from attending preschool).
Looking for a compact meal box for yourself or a regular size one for a kid? This is a good choice. I appreciate the simplicity. Just a couple of compartments that are well sized. The metal is of adequate thickness and everything fits together firm and tight.Simple, elegant quality.
I will say that I have a huge collection of bento boxes of various types and sizes, and this may be one of my absolute favorites for several reasons. First, the quality is fantastic. I was impressed to see the utensils are made of 316L stainless. I am a metallurgist so this tells me they can stand up to acidic meals more than basic stainless steels. The silicone handles are flexible and comfortable. I did the water test with both the small round container and the bento. The round container doesn't leak at all. The bento had two very small drips from the corner after shaking heavily for 30 seconds. I'm confident that this won't leak in my bag because it seals up so much better than other bento boxes I have seen for twice the price. In addition to performance, it came with some really cute stickers to decorate the outside of your bento, which my kids love. I added an applesauce pouch for size comparison. It holds quite a bit of food, and is also great for snacks. I will be buying a couple more of these and highly recommend it!
This is a nice lunchbox that adults can use too. I love the stainless steel finish to it. The fork and spoon themselves are stainless steel too but not the handles. They're made of rubber, which I think is an amazing idea because they can slightly bend to fit inside the lunchbox. I made a video to post of it, but the Amazon App is not allowing me to upload it. This container (if adults are using it) is for a good snack. However, for a child it is the perfect portion for a full lunch. I will continue to try and upload this video for everyone.
